Jang Eun Lee: ' Volgens Ji Yong-Ho is mutatie een noodzakelijk proces om optimaal aan te passen aan de moderne beschaving. Zijn 'Mutants' vertegenwoordigen niet alleen de evolutie volgens Darwin, maar zijn ook nieuw levende wezens gemaakt van industrieel afval, zoals oude banden. Ji Yong-Ho voelt zich aangetrokken tot weggegooide banden omdat ze voornamelijk van rubber gemaakt zijn (een plantenextract), omdat ze een verhaal hebben van gebruik, hergebruik en weggooien.'
