Wang Gongxins werk gaat over de interactie tussen de Chinese en de Westerse cultuur. Hij maakte onder andere de serie foto’s getiteld ‘Portrait Rights’. De geportretteerden worden door verschillende objecten beschermd waardoor ze onherkenbaar zijn. Maar daardoor verliest het portret ook zijn functie
