Xia Jings series Underground are photographs of portraits of mineworkers, made of coal. She dedicated her series to the mineworkers, who work hard and underground, with all kinds of risk. A lot of (fatal) accidents happen, most of the times unknown to the rest of the world. The artist brings this up as a remark to the growing economy, build on the hardships of the mineworkers.
